Approximate Measurements: 50mm hoop
Earwire Metal: gold-filled
Material: white plastic fast food cups and reclaimed gold-plated beads
Shape/Style: heishi hoop earrings
Color(s): white and goldWe've been hand-punching our disc beads out of reclaimed materials for years at this point. One of our favorite things is telling you exactly what we made the beads out of: these are plastic fast food cups that we find during our clean-ups. We then pair them with gold-plated beads and gold-filled 50mm hoops to create these simple but statement-making oversized hoop earrings.
In many cases, there is no current method of recycling the plastics I use via traditional means. While there is no shortage of plastic fast-food cups where I live, there is nowhere locally that they can be recycled. All plastics are cleaned and sanitized before use. And if you ever decide that you've had your jewelry long enough, you can send it back to us and we'll recycle it again!

Due to the handmade nature of our products and the materials used to create them, there may be slight differences between the products and the images used to depict them. While we strive to use photos of the exact object you will receive, we may not always be able to do that when there are multiple versions of the same item. Colors may look different in person than they appear on screen. This listing is for the item listed in the title, only. Any other photos are included for size and material reference.
The trash plastics (plastic pigment) in Hey Lola products come from beach plastic, street plastic, donated plastics and leftover bits from my other recycled plastic jewelry and/or sculptures. In many cases, there is no current method of recycling these plastics via traditional means. All plastics are cleaned and sanitized before use. When a binding agent is needed to hold the plastics together, we use a plant based bio resin.
We pair the plastics with high quality ear wires so that your jewelry will last longer.
And if you ever decide that you've had your item long enough, you can pop it in an envelope and send it back to us - we'll recycle it again!
