A one of a kind statement necklace measuring approximately 32" long. Made with:
Recycled fair trade glass beads in soft green
Various vintage beads
Fair trade brass beads
Fair trade ethically sourced horn beads
Two handmade Hey Lola green ocean plastic beads
Two handmade Hey Lola pink ocean plastic beads
Gold plated woodland toggle clasp
Remnant nylon thread
This one of a kind necklace is part of my Remnants collection. Remnants pieces are made using vintage and/or reclaimed beads, and vintage/reclaimed chain links. Before I began working with trash, I primarily used beads, utilizing pieces from vintage, broken, and donated jewelry whenever possible. Because I did this for many years prior to working with reclaimed trash plastics, I have a sizeable collection of beads. In addition, people still recycle their old jewelry with me, further adding to my bead collection. These necklaces are made in small batches and are each one of a kind, which, combined with the use of recycled items, lend to their uniqueness.
And if you ever decide that you've had your jewelry long enough, you can send it back to us and we'll recycle it again!
This is considered costume jewelry and should be kept in dry areas when not being worn (so don't keep them in the bathroom or kitchen, don't go swimming in them, don't wear them while dancing in the rain, etc.). Spraying chemicals on or near costume jewelry may speed up the "antiquing" of metal - for instance, perfumes, hair spray, make-up setting sprays.
Colors may look slightly different in person than they appear on screen. This listing is for one necklace, only. All other photos are included for size and material reference.

A portion of our proceeds are donated to environmental conservation efforts. We donate a minimum of $1,000 per year to Ocean Conservancy as part of their Business Champions for Sea Change Program. We also donate $1 to Mangrove Action Project for each package we ship. The sale of these pieces also helps to fund the direct clean-up of thousands of pieces and pounds of plastic trash, as well as helping to fund environmental education efforts.
Please see our page on sustainability for information on how you can return your old or worn out Hey Lola jewelry to us for recycling.
