Sand-colored beach plastics are combined with blue soda bottle plastics and other traditionally unrecyclable plastics, then bound with a plant-based bio-resin to create this ocean-inspired pendant. The pendant measures approximately .75" in diameter and comes on an 18" gold-filled chain.
My work is inspired by my love for nature, so clean-ups, home waste management education, and conservation are a very big part of my artistic process. In addition to doing regular clean-ups and educational events, Hey Lola Art Co. is also part of Ocean Conservancy's Champions for Sea Change Program.

Ocean Beach Recycled Plastics Necklace in Gold
These are considered costume jewelry and should be kept in dry areas when not being worn (so don't keep them in the bathroom or kitchen, don't go swimming in them, don't wear them while dancing in the rain, etc.). Spraying chemicals on or near costume jewelry may speed up the "antiquing" of metal - for instance, perfumes, hair spray, make-up setting sprays.
A portion of our proceeds are donated to environmental conservation efforts. We donate a minimum of $1,000 per year to Ocean Conservancy as part of their Business Champions for Sea Change Program. We also donate $1 to Mangrove Action Project for each package we ship. The sale of these pieces also helps to fund the direct clean-up of thousands of pieces and pounds of plastic trash, as well as helping to fund environmental education efforts.
